Gaymont was founded by William Dotson, Sr. in 1961. His vision began as a small nursing home along Norwalk Ohio's historic West Main Street, and has remained an integral part of Norwalk's business community for nearly six decades since.
In that time, we have grown into a 112 bed skilled nursing facility with a designated Alzheimer's Care Unit, senior apartments, and one of the area's only Adult Day Care facilities.
Whether you are considering Gaymont as your home or for a post-hospital stay, you can be rest assured that our staff will provide personal, patient-centered care tailored to your individual needs.
Why We're Different
At Gaymont Care & Rehabilitation, we believe in bringing a family approach to everything that we do. From our skilled nursing staff to our Therapy, Activities, Housekeeping and Dietary departments, we believe in person-based care and the dignity of our residents, staff, and visitors.
To care for one, that's love. To care for hundreds, that's nursing. At Gaymont, we do both.
For more than 57 years, Gaymont's philosophy of care has been patient-based. We ask that everyone who enters our building be willing to invest in personal relationships. If you're here to work, visit a resident, or deliver the mail; we ask that you open your eyes to the possibility of caring for others.
At Gaymont Care & Rehabilitation, we understand that we take better care of others when we care about them, whether that's a resident or a co-worker. At Gaymont, Caring is the key.
Our mission is to provide relationship-based personal care. That is, to employ staff who value relationships, are trained in the field, and who demonstrate a willingness to give of themselves... resulting in excellent care.
