Nursing

Gaymont's nursing staff consists of State Tested Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses. These layers of nursing work together to create the best possible care.

The entire facility is overseen by Letitia "Tish" Eid (Director of Nursing), who received her BSN from Rush University (Chicago, IL) in 1995. Tish has worked in healthcare since 1993, beginning her career as a Nursing Assistant while attending nursing school. Her nursing experience includes: long-term care, home care, liver and kidney transplant units, gero-psych, ventilators and skilled units. Tish has also served as a volunteer EMT with the Valley City and Grafton fire departments.

Additionally, each nursing unit is overseen by a Care Coordinator. These positions are held by nurses (RN or LPN) who possess leadership qualities, including: confidence in decision-making, organizational skills, clinical proficiency (based on current best practices), a spirit for education, and a love for the elderly.

The front line staff consists of LPNs, RNs and STNAs, who create genuine relationships with the people they care for. They must also possess current licensure or certification in their field. These staff members spend the majority of their day interacting directly with residents and their families.

Gaymont Care & Rehabilitation requires all nursing staff to participate in ongoing educational programs. We believe strongly in continuing education, which is evident in the hours dedicated to formal education, skills labs and CPR training.
